The Kalpana Chawla Chhatravratti Yojna for Girls is a scholarship scheme launched by the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation & Technology (HSCSIT) to encourage talented girl students to pursue higher education in engineering, architecture and planning courses.

Under this scheme, eligible girls studying in the first year of B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan courses can receive financial assistance of up to ₹8,350 per month based on their JEE ranking.

The scholarship mainly benefits meritorious girl students from Haryana who have scored high marks in Class 12 and qualified JEE Main or JEE Advanced examinations. The scheme aims to support students financially and motivate more girls to build careers in technical and engineering fields.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the scholarship, students must fulfill the following conditions:

• The student must have passed Class 10th and 12th from a school located in Haryana.
• Haryana Board students must score at least 80% marks in Class 12th.
• CBSE/ICSE or other board students must score at least 85% marks in Class 12th.
• Students who completed Class 10th or 12th from outside Haryana must submit a valid Haryana Residence Certificate.
• Only girl students admitted in the first year of B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Plan courses during the academic session 2025-26 are eligible to apply.

A total of 250 scholarships are available under the scheme:

Scholarship Amount

Selection Process

The merit list is prepared primarily based on:

1. All India Rank in JEE Advanced
2. If sufficient applicants are unavailable, then JEE Main Rank is considered.

Students must upload attested JEE scorecards while applying online.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

In case two students have similar rankings, preference is given based on:

• Higher percentage in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
• Better score in English/Hindi
• Younger age candidate

Reservation Benefits

The scholarship includes reservation benefits for:

• Scheduled Castes (SC/SCD)
• Backward Classes [BC(A) & BC(B)]
• Physically Handicapped candidates
• Ex-Servicemen/Freedom Fighter categories

Physically handicapped applicants must possess at least 40% disability, certified by the Chief Medical Officer.

Rules for Continuation of Scholarship

Students must maintain good academic performance to continue receiving the scholarship.

Important Conditions

• Minimum 60% marks in every semester are mandatory.
• Students with compartment/re-appear are not eligible for further installments.
• The scholarship is released in semester-wise installments.
• Students cannot avail any other scholarship simultaneously.

How to Apply for Kalpana Chawla Chhatravratti Yojna?

Students can follow the below steps to apply online for the Kalpana Chawla Chhatravratti Yojna scholarship:

• Step 1: Visit the official scholarship portal: Har Chhatravratti Portal
• Step 2: Click on the “Student” tab and select “Student Registration”.
• Step 3: Enter your PPP (Family ID) to receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
• Step 4: Enter and verify the OTP received on your mobile number.
• Step 5: Fill the registration form with details like Aadhaar Number, Email ID, and create your password.
• Step 6: Read the terms and conditions carefully and click on the Register button.
• Step 7: After successful registration, you will receive your User ID.
• Step 8: Login using the User ID and password.
• Step 9: Click on “Apply for Scholarship” from the left-side panel and select “Kalpana Chawla Chatravrati Yojna”.
• Step 10: Select the academic session year, click Submit, and verify the OTP received on your mobile number.
• Step 11: Fill out the application form carefully and upload all required documents.
• Step 12: Submit the application form and save the application reference number for future tracking.
