NSP Scholarship Latest News – 15 March 2026

Today we have an important scholarship update from the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Many students have been waiting for updates about merit list selection and PFMS payment status, and now there is some good news for fresh applicants and renewal candidates.

Good News for Fresh Scholarship Students

Many fresh students have already been selected in the merit list, and their application status is now showing “Sent to PFMS – Yes.”

This means their scholarship payment process has started.
For many students, this status has already been updated on the portal.

In this article, we will discuss:

  • Which students are getting selected
  • Their previous year percentage
  • Parents’ income details
  • Whether they are fresh students or renewal candidates

Students Under Disability Schemes Getting Selected

According to recent updates, many students under Disability Scholarship Schemes have been selected quickly.

This includes:

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
  • Post-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

A large number of students under these schemes have already been selected in the merit list.

If you are also a student under this scheme, you should check your NSP status immediately.

Meaning of “Sent to PFMS – Yes” but Merit List Blank

Some students are seeing this status:

  • Sent to PFMS: Yes
  • Merit List: Blank

This means the application has moved forward in the payment process, but the merit list status has not updated yet. It may update soon.

Many fresh candidates are seeing this status currently.

Meaning of “Merit List – Yes” but PFMS Blank

Some students are seeing the opposite status:

  • Merit List: Yes
  • Sent to PFMS: Blank

This means the student has already been selected in the merit list, but the payment process has not yet been sent to PFMS.
This update will usually appear soon after merit list confirmation.

When Will Students Get Scholarship Payment?

Students under the following schemes may receive payment by the end of March:

  • Central Sector Scholarship
  • Post Matric Scholarship
  • Ministry of Tribal Affairs schemes
  • Ministry of Home Affairs schemes
  • Students whose application is finally verified by the State Nodal Officer

Based on previous patterns, most payments are expected in the last week of March.

However, there may be small delays if the government changes the action plan.

Important Warning: Check Your DBT Link

Students must check whether their bank account is linked with DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Recently, it was found that 73 renewal students lost their DBT link, even though they received money earlier.

The government has given time until 18 March to link DBT.
If the DBT link is not active, the scholarship amount may be rejected permanently.

How to Check Aadhaar Bank Seeding Status

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the NSP portal
  2. Click on Check Aadhaar Seeding Status
  3. A new tab will open on the Aadhaar official website
  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha
  5. Login using OTP
  6. You will see whether your bank account is linked with DBT or not

This process takes less than one minute, but it is very important for receiving your scholarship.
