Latest Update: The registration and approval process for Round-1 (only for children who studied in private schools) under the CGMS 2026-27 based schemes has started from 08-05-2026 which will be closed on 15-05-2026 at 11:59 PM.
Eligibility Criteria
Students can apply if they meet the following criteria:
- Studied from Class 1 to 8 in Government or Grant-in-Aid primary schools.
- Are currently studying in Class 8 (2025-26) or passed Class 8.
- Students admitted under RTE Act 2009 (25% quota) in private schools can apply (subject to income conditions).
- Private school students may be eligible for limited available seats as per rules.
- There is no income limit for Government school students.
Scholarship Amounts Under the Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship
Selected students will receive scholarship from Class 9 to Class 12 to continue their secondary and higher secondary education. Students selected for the Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship will receive the following benefits once they qualify for the examination – (official reference)
- For students admitted to private/self-financed schools (after qualifying):
- Class 9–10: ₹22,000 per year
- Class 11–12: ₹25,000 per year
- For students who continue education in government or grant-in-aid schools:
- Class 9–10: ₹6,000 per year
- Class 11–12: ₹7,000 per year
