Eligibility Criteria for PRAGATI Scholarship
For Degree (UG) Students (Official Guidelines Degree)
- The applicant must be a girl student.
- She should be admitted to the 1st year of a degree course or 2nd year through lateral entry in an AICTE-approved institution.
- A maximum of two girl children per family can apply.
- The annual family income should not exceed ₹8 lakh from all sources.
- A valid income certificate issued by the State/UT Government is required.
- The gap between the qualifying exam (12th) and admission should not be more than 2 years.
For Diploma Students (Official Guidelines Diploma)
- The applicant must be a girl student.
- She should be admitted to the 1st year of a diploma course or 2nd year through lateral entry in an AICTE-approved institution.
- Only two girl children per family are eligible.
- The family income limit is ₹8 lakh per year.
- A valid income certificate must be submitted during application.
- The gap between the qualifying exam (10th) and admission should not exceed 2 years.
PRAGATI Scholarship Amount & Benefits
Students receive ₹50,000 annually as a lump sum, which can be used for:
- Tuition fees
- Books and stationery
- Laptop/computer purchase
- Software and academic equipment
📌 As per official rules, no additional funds are provided for hostel or medical expenses, and no bills are required to claim the amount.
Duration of Scholarship
- Degree Students:
- Up to 4 years (regular entry)
- Up to 3 years (lateral entry)
- Diploma Students:
- Up to 3 years (regular entry)
- Up to 2 years (lateral entry)
Selection Process (Merit-Based)
Selection is strictly based on academic merit:
- UG Students: Based on 10+2 marks
- Diploma Students: Based on 10th marks
After finalisation, state-wise merit lists are prepared, ensuring fair distribution of scholarships across India.
Girls from North Eastern states and Union Territories (like Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, etc.)—

Mode of Payment
The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student’s bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) annually.
PRAGATI Scholarship Renewal Rules
To continue receiving the scholarship each year:
- Apply for renewal through NSP
- Upload marksheet + institution certificate
- Maintain academic performance
